Chapter History

The Sigma Alpha chapter since our charter, April of 2009, has held our sorority's mission near and dear to our hearts. We live everyday to enhance our community at KSU and in the surrounding Metro Atlanta area. We have been involved with Books for Africa, AIDS Walk ATL, March for Babies, Hands on Atlanta, St. Jude, and many other organizations. We pride ourselves on service.

We understand how important leadership development is and are always looking for new ways to shape ourselves into better leaders. Conferences such as the National Black Greek Leadership conference are great opportunities to frame our leaders. We have had a representative at this conference and will continue to send a member in the years to come.

We recognize that children are our future, which is why we have fundraised and donate money to assist the Lutheran Services of GA's after school program and spend Saturday mornings mentoring youth at Parklane Elementary in East Point, GA.

It is clear by our chapter holding the 'Highest All-Greek GPA' of a 3.12 that we recognize the importance of high scholastic achievement. We are at Kennesaw State University to get degrees, that is our main priority. We are what we say we are about and that is, "Greater Service, Greater Progress"
